　自分の意見に反対されて傷つくのが嫌なので、異質なものや自分の価値観と相容れない人とは一緒にいたくない。そう考える人も多いようです。「なんで？それでいいの？」と問われるより、「そうそう、そうだよね」「わかるよね」「わかるわかる」と同調し合うコミュニケーションに心地よさを覚えるのが、典型的な日本人スタイルです。
　しかし、グローバル社会では、「一人一人違う」のが当たり前。日本人同士ならば「そうそう」と同調してもらえることが、「なぜ？」といぶかしげに問われるのは、むしろ日常です。自分の常識が、必ずしも相手には通じないし、自分の感覚では受け入れがたい非常識が、相手にとっては至極当たり前ということもありえます。
